Defending Champions Italy were holded 1-1 by New Zealand

It was a shock rather than surprise when the defending champions were holded on a 1-1 draw by the team that is playing the World Cup finals for the first time- New Zealand. And what is more surprising is that at one point of time in the game they were trailing by one goal.
The New Zealand started off with a bang with scoring a goal in the 6th minute of the game and immediately pushing the Champions, Italy, onto the back seat. Smeltz scored the goal for New Zealand and it was a real time for joy for the New Zealand supporters.
But Italians did not took much time to score their equalizer when Iaquinta scored a 29th minute penalty to make the scores level.
But after that no team were able to score a goal and the match ended in 1-1 draw. On one hand New Zealand would surely be happy after getting a point against the Defending Champions, However Italians who are known as slow starters for the world cup needs to pick up pace and find them some form as hey have somewhat similar situations as England. They have to win their next match otherwise it would be their final match of the World Cup Campaign.
